Hemophilia B is a rare coagulation disorder related to the deficiency or absence of factor IX. Individuals with hemophilia B are prone to potentially life-threatening bleeding events. Although there are similarities between hemophilia B and hemophilia A (factor VIII deficiency), there are unique aspects of hemophilia B diagnosis and management that will be reviewed within this chapter.
