This paper collects relevant technical indicators of tuyere coke samples from different blast furnacesBlast furnace at Shougang Group across various periods. Petrographic analysis by particle sizeParticle size was conducted on samples from different radial positions in the hearth, exploring the distribution characteristics of unburned pulverized coalUnburned pulverized coal (UPC) in the samples. The concept of a “classical particle sizeParticle size range” for studying UPC in blast furnace hearthBlast furnace hearth samples is proposed. Results indicate that UPC primarily accumulates near the raceway periphery. Furthermore, by optimizing oxygen enrichment, coal blending, and particle sizeParticle size control in PCI (pulverized coal injection), the proportion of UPC can be reduced during high-rate PCI operations.
