Whereas Chap. 3 discussed Christian conservative narratives about the legitimacy of any government, this chapter discusses their narratives about the legitimacy of American constitutional government in particular. I will review and assess Christian conservative historical narratives about the pre-history of the founding first—in other words the colonial history predating the Constitutional Convention. Then, I will review and assess their narratives about the drafting and ratification of the Constitution. Finally, I will analyze narratives about the substance of the Constitution itself.

摘要

Whereas Chap. 3 discussed Christian conservative narratives about the legitimacy of any government, this chapter discusses their narratives about the legitimacy of American constitutional government in particular. I will review and assess Christian conservative historical narratives about the pre-history of the founding first—in other words the colonial history predating the Constitutional Convention.
