Desulfurization of High-Grade Iron Ore by Microwave Roasting and Water Leaching
摘要
Sulfur is a common and major harmful element in iron oreIron ore, significantly impacting the steel smelting process and product quality. Its efficient removal has consistently been a key research focus. In this study, a low-temperatureTemperature microwave roastingMicrowave roasting-water leachingLeaching process was proposed to enhance desulfurizationDesulfurization efficiency of a high-grade iron ore. It was found that when the ore was roasted at 350 °C for 30 min under microwave irradiationMicrowave irradiation followed by 30 min of room-temperatureTemperature water leachingLeaching, the residual sulfur content in the leached ore decreased from 0.86 to 0.18 wt%, achieving a desulfurizationDesulfurization percentage of 79.07%. This study provided an exemplary approach for efficient, low-cost, and environmentally friendly iron oreIron ore desulfurizationDesulfurization.
