This brief chapter employs partial fraction expansion to show that the Laplace domain sinusoidal steady-state response can be found by letting \(s \rightarrow j\omega \) in the circuit transfer function, thus rigorously relating the Laplace domain analysis to phasor analysis. The frequency response of a high-pass filter is found, and this motivates the use of logarithmic frequency response plots in the next chapter.
