“Pátio” and “Beco” were important living spaces for Chinese in Macau after theLiving space mid-nineteenth century and were recorded in the official Macau street register, Macau Gazette and other documents, as well as laws and regulations. The article starts from four aspects: the interpretation and distribution of Macau “Pátio” and “BecoMacau “Pátio” and “Beco””, the origin and cause of “Pátio” and “Beco”, the spatial characteristics of traditional Chinese-style “Pátio” and “Beco”, and the development and evolution of “Pátio” and “Beco” living form in the early twentieth century. This paper focuses on analyzing its spatial morphological characteristics from the outside shop and inside house block pattern, building plane pattern, type of building unit, ancillary structures, and architectural style features and finally puts forward some suggestions on the cultural valueCultural value of the enclosure and its inheritance and protectionInheritance and protection.
