This chapter is a biblical critique of the practice of materiality within the new prophetic churches in South Africa. The chapter argues that although the historical, cultural, and religious dimensions of the materiality of religion are important, it is also important to consider the biblical dimension within the framework of the African theological perspective. Therefore, a Pentecostal theology of materiality is expected to pay attention to the biblical practices of materiality. This means that there should be a biblical basis for the sufficiency of salvation. In this chapter, this is done by paying attention to the biblical basis of the practice of healing and deliverance products and prophecy.
