This chapter discusses the hyperintensional revolution as a continuation of intensional metaphysics. Debates within intensional metaphysics often centre on ontological, ideological, and systematic concerns, as well as their acceptability to both philosophers and non-philosophers. However, the traditional tools—whether concrete possible worlds or mere representations—are insufficient in addressing certain distinctions, which remain inadequately analysed. These distinctions are hyperintensional. This chapter outlines the motivations for hyperintensionality and its philosophical applications.
