The maritime industry faces increasing pressure toGlass utilize alternative materials for ship deckDeck production. This chapter explores use of waste plasticPlastic (WP) and waste glass (WG)Waste Glass (WG) for compositeComposite ship decksDeck, offering a sustainable solution to ship building. Materials were sourced from waste collectors and the beneficiation procedure was achieved by washing, crushing, sieving using British Standard (BS) set of sieves. EpoxyEpoxy serves as the main binder for the WP and WGWaste Glass (WG) in ratios of (0:50:50, 1:49:50, 2:48:50, 3:47:50, 0:0:100). Results show that WP has high bulk density while the WGWaste Glass (WG) has a low bulk density. CompositeComposite produced high resistance to compressive strength with 54.57 N/mm2, low abrasion resistance, low water absorption and the scanning electron microscopyScanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) shows the morphology of compositeComposite with the high strength. Therefore, the compositeComposite shows potential for becoming an additional sustainable solution to ship construction and application.

摘要
