The Power of Digital Infrastructure in Shaping Economic Progress
摘要
The current world has chosen the direction of digital development. However, its economic impact is still considered mainly from the perspective of general assumptions or specific sectors. This research focuses on the impact of digital infrastructure, because, according to the authors, long-term economic development is not guaranteed without infrastructure. The research object is countries with a high level of digitalization from different regions. The infrastructures were distinguished by Internet access, education, R&D, and startups. The authors analyzed export indicators of high-tech products to determine the impact of digital infrastructure. The level of development in each country was measured using GDP. The analysis showed that, for ensuring long-term sustainable economic development, investments in R&D are particularly important, especially in areas that foster the emergence of promising digital sectors within the country. Achieving this requires the establishment of a robust education system to develop the necessary human capital. Overall, from the perspective of economic growth, it is essential to build digital infrastructure and enhance its impact across traditional and digital economic sectors, as well as in international trade.
