While competent gonioscopy remains the clinical gold standard, offering critical diagnostic information without the need for costly equipment, advanced imaging modalities may provide complementary data through objective and reproducible images of the anterior chamber angle. Anterior segment optical coherence tomography (AS-OCT) provides high-resolution, noncontact imaging with quantitative assessment capabilities. Ultrasound biomicroscopy (UBM) offers unique advantages in visualizing structures posterior to the iris. Recent innovations are further expanding our capabilities: goniophotography systems enable rapid 360-degree angle documentation; OCT gonioscopy combines traditional techniques with enhanced resolution; and other advanced methods like two-photon microscopy and adaptive optics gonioscopy allow for cellular-level imaging. This chapter examines the technical principles, clinical applications, and future directions of these angle imaging technologies, positioning them as complementary tools that, when integrated with skilled clinical examination, enhance the comprehensive management of glaucoma.
