Data-Driven Change: The Role of Focal Firms in Advancing Sustainability Standards in Global Supply Chains
摘要
This study leverages data-driven analysis to explore the institutional pressure from focal firms in embedding sustainability standards within global supplier networks. Utilizing a comprehensive dataset of over 5,000 suppliers from the automotive industry, we examine the temporal evolution of sustainability standard implementation as mandated by focal firms. Our analysis highlights significant differences across supplier groups, shedding light on how data-driven insights can inform the adoption of more sustainable practices. The findings underscore the role of focal firms in driving environmental resilience and offering a technological roadmap for addressing global challenges like climate change and resource management. We conclude with strategic recommendations for leveraging technology and data analytics to enhance sustainability across supply chains, presenting valuable insights for policymakers and multinational enterprises aiming to create a greener future.
