Refracted Realities: A Queer Ecofeminist Analysis of Gender Non-conformity, Hate Speech, and Legal Dynamics in the Moroccan Digital Sphere
摘要
This chapter explores gender non-conformity in Morocco’s digital sphere through an intersectional queer ecofeminist lens. It examines how gender, sexuality, and conformity intersect online, drawing on scholars like Judith Butler and Maria Lugones. The chapter highlights the performative nature of gender and the contestation of identity in Moroccan digital spaces. It analyzes the legal frameworks shaping these interactions and references Radwa Elsaman, Rabia Belt, and the activist initiative Moroccan Outlaws, which challenges Articles 489 and 490. By weaving legal, social, and ecological insights, the chapter exposes how digital environments both mirror and resist dominant gender norms. It contributes to global conversations on gender-based violence and advocates for inclusive online spaces and the dismantling of binary constructs in pursuit of social and gender justice in Morocco.
