The availability of rapid and entirely non-invasive tests, such as terrestrial laser scanning and dynamic monitoring, enables substantial improvements in the structural evaluation of historic masonry towers. These improvements contribute to both enhancing accuracy and reducing investigation time, ensuring that the general assessment retains the cultural multidimensionality necessary to gather and integrate information from various disciplines (e.g., archive and historic research, geometric surveys, visual inspections, operational modal analysis, tests on materials, and numerical analysis). Conversely, continuous dynamic monitoring of towers using a limited number of sensors can, in some cases, help determine the necessity of reinforcement measures by consistently assessing the building's dynamic behavior and identifying eventual faults. This paper concisely outlines the steps involved in the ongoing structural evaluation of the historic tower known as Campanone (Pontremoli, Tuscany) and presents selected findings obtained over eight months of dynamic monitoring.
