PrograBot: An Interactive Robotics Kit to Boost Programming Skills
摘要
Programming is a key skill in modern education, especially in Software Engineering, but barriers like limited resources, perceived difficulty, and low motivation hinder learning. This study introduces PrograBot, an educational kit combining physical and digital tools programming cubes, a board, a robotic system, and an interface–to make programming more interactive and accessible. An experiment with 14 participants (ages 18–20) evaluated PrograBot’s effectiveness, showing improvements in computational thinking, motivation, and programming confidence. User experience was assessed using facial emotion recognition, revealing neutrality as the dominant emotion, with sporadic fluctuations in sadness and minimal occurrences of other emotions. Findings suggest PrograBot enhances programming education by integrating robotics and emotional analysis to improve engagement and learning outcomes.
