Legislation to Combat the Crime of Electronic Character Assassination: An Analysis of Penalties and Implementation Mechanisms

This research investigates the legal frameworks concerning the offense of electronic character assassination by evaluating both national and international statutes that pertain to this issue, alongside an examination of the penalties associated with this crime, which include imprisonment and fines, as well as ancillary penalties such as the permanent deletion of data or the closure of websites. Additionally, the study draws comparisons between various legislations to evaluate the efficacy of the penalties in combating this crime. Ultimately, the research offers a series of recommendations aimed at enhancing existing laws, such as extending the duration of penalties and implementing more effective mechanisms for the enforcement of supplementary penalties.
