Advanced thyroid cancers are defined by their aggressive growth patterns, propensity for recurrence and increased disease specific mortality. Whilst ATC is always defined as advanced, this chapter explores criteria for defining advanced thyroid carcinoma in DTC, PDTC and MTC to guide somatic genomic testing and consideration for systemic targeted therapies.
