How Governance Mechanisms and Company Characteristics Shape Indonesian Fintech Performance
摘要
The development of fintech (financial technology) in Indonesia is driven by high internet penetration and the need for more efficient financial services. As a dynamic sector, fintech not only plays a role in financial inclusion but also faces challenges related to corporate governance and financial performance. This study aims to determine the effect of corporate governance mechanism and company characteristics on the financial performance of fintech companies in Indonesia. The variables consist of the size of board of commissioners (BOC), the size of board of directors (BOD), company age and investment status. The results indicate that the size of BOC has a positive effect, while the size of BOD and investment status have a negative effect to the financial performance. The company age, however, has no effect. These findings contribute to the literature on corporate governance in fintech companies and provide insights into how to improve governance practices to ensure effective operations.
