Empowering Women Entrepreneurs: The Role of Digital Platforms and Digital Literacy in Enhancing Women Entrepreneurs’ Business Performance
摘要
This study explores the use of digital platforms and digital literacy to increase the business performance at the Malaysian Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) level for women entrepreneurs. The research is intended to fill the existing gap in knowledge by analysing the moderating effect of digital literacy on the relationship between the usage of digital platforms and business performance. In order to collect the data, a quantitative cross-sectional research design was used, and structured questionnaires were administered to 300 women entrepreneurs in urban, suburban, and rural settings. The results of the study reveal that perceived usefulness, ease of use and behavioural intention to use digital platforms improve business performance. On the other hand, the role of digital literacy as a moderator differs by geographical location. This study is important because it may provide significant information for policymakers and educators in promoting inclusive digital programmes and policies for empowering women entrepreneurs. Ultimately, the study shows that women should enhance their digital skills to ensure sustainable economic development and gender equality in entrepreneurship.
