Digital Evolution in India’s Life Insurance Sector

The Indian insurance industry has undergone significant transformation over the last few decades. Innovations in technology are transforming the face of financial sector services, and similarly, life insurance products have evolved to become more inclusive and comprehensive (Kaur and Singh in TQM J 35:1234–1256, 2023). With the advent of innovations such as digital innovations, AI, big data, and other technological tools, the industry is slowly becoming more efficient, personalized, and accessible. This study examines the intersection of gender sensitivity in life insurance products and technology in India. This paper is motivated by the need to explore the intersection of technology and life insurance in India, to assess the impact of technology on the industry, and to contribute to discussions on how the future of life insurance will be shaped by technological innovation. We find that there is a need to identify the role of women in life insurance with the advent of technology and increasing financial literacy.
