The adoption of e-commerce has not been uniform across all population segments, as older adults face barriers such as fear of cybersecurity and cybercrime. This article analyzes this issue from a scientific perspective, identifying the causes behind this fear and proposing possible actions to reduce it and promote safer and more equitable digital inclusion. Through a bibliometric study and subsequent content analysis of the documents included in this study, it is confirmed that fear of cybersecurity and cybercrime is a barrier for this population segment. It is found that this fear is exacerbated by their digital vulnerability, lack of adapted technologies, limited training, and the rise of cybercrime. Bridging this gap requires redesigning more accessible platforms, improving digital education, and implementing public policies that protect and empower older adults in the digital environment.
