The Role of Digital Technologies in the Training of Social Workers

The article examines the role of digital technologies in the training of social workers in the context of the digital transformation of society. The main areas of implementation of digital solutions in the educational process are analyzed: distance and blended learning, the use of educational platforms (Moodle, Zoom, Google Classroom), virtual simulations, online cases, digital case management. It is proven that digital technologies not only expand access to quality education, but also form new approaches to professional training focused on flexibility, individualization and practical orientation. The paper focuses on the need to form digital competence of future social workers, which includes the ability to work with information, adhere to ethical standards, use modern digital tools to interact with clients and colleagues. The results of a SWOT analysis are presented, which revealed the strengths and weaknesses of digitalization, as well as the opportunities and risks associated with its further development. Examples of successful implementation of digital solutions in Ukraine (“Action. Digital Education” projects, “Social Assistant” chatbot, “Social Community” platform) and abroad (BetterHelp, Welcome App Germany, Asystent Rodziny platforms) are given. Current challenges are outlined: digital inequality, ethical threats, reduction in the quality of practical training, overloading of participants in the educational process. Examples of Ukrainian and international experience in implementing digital solutions in the field of social education are given. A conclusion is drawn about the need for a harmonious combination of digital and traditional approaches in the training of social work specialists. The article contains a formulation of the problem, a review of literary sources on the subject of the study, results of the investigation and conclusions.
