Our Menschenbilder—The Task Facing Us
摘要
This concluding chapter reaffirms that Menschenbilder—conceptions of what it means to be human—are universal, foundational, and deeply influential. They shape culture, morality, politics, and everyday life, and must therefore be identified, analysed, and critically examined. Many social and political conflicts arise from competing or unexamined Menschenbilder. Only by making them explicit can societies foster tolerance, rational debate, and democratic compromise. Yet Menschenbilder also carry dangers: history shows how they can legitimise exclusion and oppression. The chapter calls for transparent, humane Menschenbilder that promote human flourishing.
