This chapter, besides summarising the debate about the legal and moral status of Lethal Autonomous Weapons Systems (LAWS), demonstrates that the debate on governing LAWS is out of touch with reality, if we keep separating hybrid threats and cyberattacks from discussions about the future automation of warfare. LAWS, I argue, shall integrate in their definition Cyber Weapons Systems (CWS) to be designed to achieve political goals both by means of force, violence and destruction, and through sabotage, espionage and subversion. The need for the lethality of autonomous weapons is thus reconsidered as necessary condition to achieve political goals.

摘要
