In recent years, modern Chinese-style clothing (New Chinese Fashion) has gained popularity in the Chinese market. However, traditional qipaos face development challenges due to costly materials, labor-intensive craftsmanship, and fragmented design processes. Artificial intelligence (AI)-assisted technology and digital fashion modeling offer promising solutions by reducing material costs and accelerating design iterations, helping address production inefficiencies in modern qipaos. This study explores the potential of integrating AI-assisted technology with commercial 3D fashion CAD software. We propose a workflow using a well-trained AI model developed for modern Chinese qipao design based on the Stable Diffusion (SD) model. To evaluate software compatibility and adaptability, five designers specializing in New Chinese Fashion implemented this workflow using two leading 3D CAD programs—Style3D and CLO3D. They participated in follow-up interviews to assess AI model integration, simulation accuracy, and ease of use. Additionally, renderings from both platforms were shared on social media to gauge market acceptance through user feedback and engagement metrics. Results indicate that CLO3D aligns more effectively with AI-generated qipao design elements, offering vivid visual effects that better represent intricate features such as Chinese-style buttonwork and silk fabric textures. This study identifies suitable AI models and CAD platforms for modern Chinese-style qipao workflows, contributing to innovation in digital fashion design and enhancing the development of contemporary Chinese apparel.

摘要
