Researchers study the quick transformation and present problems of digital payment systems throughout India since demonetization and during the COVID-19 pandemic. This research explores the adoption challenges through the combination of primary data and secondary sources which confirm cybersecurity threats, restricted digital access and technical network problems together with user behaviour reluctance as primary obstacles. Digital transactions remain limited because users face phishing risks alongside rural digital illiteracy in addition to server outages and user fondness for cash payments. Methods drawn from global case studies help understand India's digital payment path and spotlight trust elements alongside user-friendly features and supportive government policies. The paper validates a unified method consisting of enhanced security protocols together with widespread infrastructure development and educational programs for users as the key elements for attaining India's cashless economic goals.
