Faculty Performance
摘要
In academic medicine, the performance of faculty members is foundational to building a safe, effective, and inspiring environment for trainees. Faculty performance not only influences the quality of education for and the success of trainees but also impacts patient care and the overall functioning of healthcare institutions. The growing complexity of medical education, coupled with the increasing expectations from students, accreditation bodies, and patients, underscores the need for comprehensive faculty performance assessment strategies to provide the skills needed to foster an environment that supports bidirectional learning and feedback. This chapter explores the value and role of faculty on the learning culture and climate and evaluates faculty skill building through assessment, emphasizing its importance, goals, and the pivotal involvement of program leadership.
