Web3-Driven Value Co-creation in Future Smart Ecosystems
摘要
As the global economy and public services undergo profound digital transformation, Web3 is emerging as a foundational decentralized infrastructure for holistic, inclusive, and ethically grounded value co-creation. In this chapter, we explore how Web3 diverges from Web2’s centralized, platform-driven architecture by fostering a decentralized, interoperable, and human-centric ecosystem built on user self-autonomy and distributed governance. Within this paradigm, we articulate that users transition from passive data providers to value co-creators, empowered to shape and directly benefit from the digital services they actively engage with. As the final highlights of this book, by relying on the smart city context, particularly the conceptual QCity model, we examine three emerging technologies further driving Web3 innovation in the foreseeable future: (1) Intelligent Evolution through AI and Machine Learning (ML), which forms the cognitive core of decentralized systems; (2) Trusted Data Spaces (TDSs), which enable ethical, transparent, and privacy-preserving data collaboration through technologies such as Decentralized Identifiers (DIDs), smart contracts, zero-knowledge proofs (ZKPs), and Secure Multi-Party Computation (SMPC); and (3) the metaverse as a virtual frontier, a decentralized, AI-augmented immersive environment enabling participatory urban planning, virtual healthcare, and decentralized education. Ultimately, we argue that Web3-enabled value co-creation provides a holistic framework for smart, human-centric living, where technology, governance, and ethics align to redefine the future of human life.
