Artificial Intelligence in Artistic Higher Education

The recent proliferation of artificial intelligence in higher education has provided new educational opportunities to students, educators, and administrators. In parallel, artificial intelligence technologies are also transforming artistic and creative practices and providing innovative opportunities for artists. Nevertheless, there is an absence of academic literature on the intersection of artificial intelligence and artistic higher education. To improve the understanding on these emerging practices, the authors are developing a research project that transversally explores two analytical dimensions: (1) the applications of artificial intelligence in artistic higher education and (2) the perceptions of the educational community towards this phenomenon. Thus, the methodological approach will entail both quantitative and qualitative methodologies. Considering the established objectives, we also anticipate making a substantive contribution to the advancement of pedagogical innovation in the domain of artistic higher education.
