The objective of this research is to automate and implement a monitoring and control system for a hydraulic process, by means of a controller and a local HMI interface. FESTO hydraulic equipment was selected for the system and Allen Bradley equipment for the controller and interface. The PLC has been programmed by means of a virtual machine with RSLogix 5000 software, where the automatic PID control to regulate the speed of a motor is relevant. PID automatic control, to regulate the speed of a hydraulic motor through pressure changes caused by a proportional pressure valve. Using Ethernet IP communication, it was possible to link the PanelView, the CompacLogix PLC and the PC containing the RSLogix 5000 ladder programming software and Factory Talk for the design of the graphical interface. An automatic system was obtained, in which by means of a graphic interface a pressure value can be entered, achieving an instantaneous speed change of the hydraulic motor and at the same time visualizing the behavior of the system.
