With the great technological advancement, it has been identified that Industry 4.0 introduces several technologies in its main developments, highlighting the RPA as a tool of great impact for its success. This innovation process drives organizations to adapt to a new wave of changes, as resistance could lead to significant problems, including stagnation. In this context, this paper conducts a literature review based on document quality assumptions, focusing mainly on RPA, addressing relevant information to understand its operation and main characteristics. Getting to identify its evolution and the great relevance it has in this new era of digital transformation. The results show the success of these technologies for the current technological development, and this work will be considered as a starting point to initiate new related research.
