The optimization of processes, cost reduction, and increased efficiency stand as primary objectives within the textile industry. With the advancement of technologies, the digital twin concept – a digital representation model of the processes and physical objects within the manufacturing environment – has been extensively employed. This article aims to examine and investigate how it is possible to integrate the use of augmented and virtual reality technologies with a digital twin model, in order to enhance equipment maintenance within this industry. In addition to a review of the current state of the art in this field, several articles related to the topic were studied, complemented by the results of a small-scale experiment. These findings indicate that the utilization of these technologies is indeed advantageous in supporting equipment maintenance and managing the flow of data generated by real physical objects and processes.

摘要
