The most significant problem of gender inequality is persistent across various sectors. Women face hurdles in advancing to the apex of organisations due to the existence of a sophisticated barrier referred to as a ‘glass ceiling.’ An illustration of such a leveller is reasoned to be Artificial Intelligence. Discriminative and politically biased mechanisms of the past are being shattered by AI, empowering women as much as enabling technology itself. It is these practices that restrict opportunities to women. AI makes it possible for organisations to track high-potential female employees, thus promoting their active participation in programs geared towards developing leadership competencies. This paper addresses how AI has the potential to truly transform systemic gender inequality by removing biases related to recruitment and promotions and fostering supportive organisational inclusivity focused on women’s advancement at various leadership levels. For this research, the authors reviewed fifty eight journal articles from Scopus and Web of Science, which concluded that AI does help to reduce the impacts of the glass ceiling. This research aims to support corporations seeking to utilise AI in reducing the gender gap in leadership by promoting equal and fair workplace opportunities.
