On November 30, 2022, OpenAI released Chat GPT, a chatbot in the field of artificial intelligence. This thesis examines coverage of Chat GPT in China Daily and The New York Times between December 1, 2022, and April 30, 2023. This thesis uses frame theory and content analysis to study the differences in reporting and points out that there are significant differences between China Daily and The New York Times in reporting quantity, reporting topics, information sources, re-porting frames, and reporting attitudes. This difference is related to the national policies, cultural backgrounds, values, and media traditions of China and the United States.
