As interstellar migration gradually becomes a reality, humanity faces not only technological and survival challenges, but also the critical task of preserving emotional and cultural continuity. This study, grounded in design futures theory and using the Futures Cone model, proposes a “digital memory” concept powered by artificial intelligence and augmented reality. The aim is to help future space migrants reconnect emotionally and culturally with Earth while living in alien environments. Through Speculative Design and Design Fiction methods, we developed an interactive prototype in which users, within a simulated future habitat, can scan specific spatial zones to trigger real-time reconstructions of Earth’s fragmented memories, blending the virtual with the real. Rather than addressing present-day needs, this project adopts design as a method to explore future possibilities, envisioning emotionally and culturally rich design solutions. We seek to provoke reflection on how, in a highly technological and virtual interstellar age, design can preserve humanity’s connection to its history, cultural identity, and spiritual roots—while offering forward-looking models for diverse global communities to inhabit the future
