Gamification design has been used to engage and stimulate players to reach their goals. Serious games, among others, have a higher demand for consistently immersive and even customized experiences. Serious games utilize game technology and design principles to produce game-like systems. Incorporating cultural heritage in game mechanics, narrative and design adds to the aesthetic and experiential value of the game. This study approaches the game framework design from several aspects of the game’s design background culture, game mechanics, and evaluation feedback. The puzzle game was completed through unity and respondents were invited to test it, and the results marked that changing the serious game can effectively improve the effect, and players are willing to recommend the game to other users. This can promote the dissemination of Wuyi Oversea Chinese Culture Heritage. Overall, this study educated and stimulated players’ interest in these topics in an easy-to-understand way through serious games, which in turn serves to educate and disseminate. This will effectively increase the public’s interest in and understanding of the preservation of diaspora architectural and cultural heritage, especially among young people, and the game can also provide a novel and effective tool for related aesthetic education.

Utilizing Serious Games to Promote the Preservation and Dissemination of the Overseas Chinese Architectural Cultural Heritage in Wuyi
