The Conflict Between Fact and Fiction
摘要
This chapter examines the definition of knowledge, its justification, and the role of evidence based on epistemological debates. In the digital age, critical thinking, reasoning, and skepticism emerge as fundamental tools in distinguishing between true and false information in the information environment. The function of methods such as storytelling, credibility, emotionalization, and visualization in scientific knowledge and persuasion processes has been evaluated. Solutions related to evidence-based teaching and digital media literacy have been proposed against the epistemic threats of the digital age. A projection has been drawn within the scope of systematic and experimental research regarding individuals’ coping with epistemic threats for future research.
