Diversity is a moral obligation that lies at the center of humanistic values, which hold a fundamental importance from the point of view of sustainable organizing. Adopting such a perspective, this chapter considers the how’s and why’s of organizing, arguing that the voices of the marginalized cultures, communities, and persons should be heard and included into organizational knowing. The chapter explains the structure and aims of the book: how it is bringing together a wide range of authors, backgrounds, epistemologies, disciplines, and perspectives. Ultimately, the book is an exploration of organizing in the context of complexity.

摘要

Diversity is a moral obligation that lies at the center of humanistic values, which hold a fundamental importance from the point of view of sustainable organizing. Adopting such a perspective, this chapter considers the how’s and why’s of organizing, arguing that the voices of the marginalized cultures, communities, and persons should be heard and included into organizational knowing. The chapter explains the structure and aims of the book: how it is bringing together a wide range of authors, backgrounds, epistemologies, disciplines, and perspectives. Ultimately, the book is an exploration of organizing in the context of complexity.
