Analyzing the Key Factors that Drive Finland’s Curriculum Success

This research analyzes the principal variables that facilitate the success of Finland’s curriculum reform, renowned for its student-centered methodology, focus on equality, and incorporation of twenty-first-century skills. This study conducts a thorough literature analysis to examine how teacher professionalism, autonomy, and involvement influence successful educational results, as well as the essential role of student engagement and well-being. The Finnish model advocates for collaborative policy formulation via a combined top-down and bottom-up strategy, guaranteeing national coherence and local adaptation. The research also investigates the integration of transversal competencies within the Finnish National Curriculum and its promotion of transdisciplinary learning. Assessment methodologies in Finland enhance formative growth and promote student autonomy. The results provide significant insights for international education systems seeking to improve quality, inclusiveness, and relevance in curriculum development.
