Higher education institutions, as centers of knowledge and vital contributors to society, play an essential role in this effort. This study examines the sustainability initiatives of 24 leading higher education institutions across 11 Latin American countries. It specifically looks at how these institutions publicly showcase their climate change responses on their websites, focusing on policies, research, education, and community engagement. The findings highlight the need for more ambitious and systemic strategies, improved cooperation and communication, and a greater focus on education and community outreach to create meaningful societal change in response to climate challenges.
