Qualitative Study of 3D Object Generation in Immersive Technologies
摘要
3D generative content (3DGC) is considered an intersection between Artificial Intelligence Generated Content (AIGC) and Extended Reality (XR). AIGC tools, initially popular for text and image generation, have expanded to audio, video, and 3D objects. Among the numerous 3D object generative methods, we explore in this work some 3D object generative models from a single image (2D-to-3D), due to their potential for immersive applications. This article aims to investigate, using qualitative methods, users’ perceptions of 3DGC in an XR environment through a head mounted display (HMD). In this study, we obtained deep insights related to the dimensions that would be overall 3D object quality, image-to-object correspondence, and user satisfaction regarding generation time, involving 40 participants.
