Industry 5.0 is the radical arrival in the industrial revolution, and it focuses on a more humanistic approach, which reinvents the roles of workforce, the design of work, and the interaction between humans and machines. Where the previous revolutions were about automation and efficiency, Industry 5.0 incorporates the use of advanced technologies, including collaborative robots (cobots), artificial intelligence (AI), and the Internet of Things (IoT), and it is based on collaboration, creativity, and human well-being. This chapter discusses the way in which these technological innovations are changing the nature of the workforce, making manual work more creative and strategic, and making the work environment more inclusive, sustainable and ethically responsible. The emphasis on upskilling, ergonomics, and safety guarantees that the employees will be able to cooperate with the machines effectively, increasing productivity and satisfaction with the job.
