A Critical Overview of Sustainable Energy Solutions and Community Development
摘要
Access to modern energy services is one of the prerequisites to improved livelihood, yet the poor, particularly in developing countries, remain tied to unhealthy and inefficient traditional fuels. Renewable energy technologies are increasingly popular energy supply alternatives to fossil-based fuels in many countries. The prevalence of fossil fuel-based energy production (coal, oil, and gas) and a significant population surge over recent decades have created an escalating need for energy, resulting in global concerns linked to a rapid rise in carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions. Thus, the need to accelerate the shift to low-carbon energy sources to prevent global warming is increasing. In conjunction with the need for intensified action, there is a growing desire that this transformation does not neglect affected workers, advocating for a “just transition.” This study adopted the case of the Sai Mitra Rooftop Solar Energy Project to demonstrate the successful adoption of clean energy in addressing the inefficiencies of traditional energy generation. The Sai Mitra case illustrates how theoretical frameworks translate into real-world outcomes. Therefore, this validates the importance of technological innovation, responsive policy environments, and community participation in achieving sustainable energy goals.
