In today's fast-changing digital landscape, businesses must evolve to meet the expectations of Society 5.0, a vision in which technology serves as a bridge to a more inclusive and sustainable future. The transition is not only technological but also significantly social, emphasizing business responsibility for sustainable development and proactive society contributions. This chapter investigates the theoretical frameworks and fundamental principles that support corporate transformation, with a special emphasis on corporate social responsibility (CSR) and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) as catalysts in Society 5.0. We intend to present a complete overview of CSR's evolution within this new paradigm, discuss the responsibilities and challenges SMEs confront, and highlight how corporate transformation acts as an instrument for societal improvement, based on technological innovation and ethical responsibility.
