Imaging plays a key role in the workup and treatment planning for patients with Apert syndrome. In this section, we describe the role of each imaging modality as part of the diagnostic workup of Apert syndrome, as well as characteristic imaging findings of the musculoskeletal, craniofacial, and nervous systems. This assessment begins with fetal evaluation and spans the treatment course for patients with Apert syndrome to confirm diagnosis and aid in surgical planning.
