The Rebirth of Peacebuilding: Toward a Wheel of Time
摘要
To conclude this collected volume, we reflect on our personal motivations for this initiative. Before synthesizing the thirteen different chapters, a review of the approach for bridging the gaps between eschatology and peace and conflict studies is provided. Part of this approach has been the blurring of disciplinary lines, which permits the inclusion of non-traditional media such as artwork and poetry throughout the book. The remainder of the conclusion is dedicated to drawing attention to the significant work done by critical International Relations scholars to engage with different dimensions of cosmology, specifically issues of time and space. The learnings from this literature are then linked to our subfield as we sketch two key points for a future research agenda: (1) a resurgence of ontological debates within the field and (2) more rigorous engagement with pluriversality. These points are previewed in a brief application to the experiences of violence in Kenya. The final remarks reiterate a commitment to eclecticism to reorient the field.
