The aim of this paper is to conduct a scoping review to understand whether there is still a gender gap in the literature in terms of access to the capital market for women compared to “male” competitors, with a focus on the creative sector. An issue that has gained increasing interest in the literature considering that female entrepreneurship represents an important source of wealth for a country’s economy (Gender-GEDI Executive Report 2013), also due to the goals set by the 2030 Agenda on gender equality. In this proposal, the literature has not reached a unanimous result. To achieve the purpose of the research, we used a qualitative method. Specifically, we extracted contributions from the scientific literature using the Scopus platform, as well as governmental contributions and institutional initiatives, in order to consider all existing studies on the topic and to examine the possibilities offered to women by institutions. The study identifies areas that have not yet been explored in the literature concerning access to credit by women’s enterprises active in the creative sector. We believe that the study can make numerous contributions to both academic literature and practice, offering an empirical analysis of female entrepreneurship in the cultural and creative industries, with a focus on the gender gap in access to finance—an issue of growing importance for national economies.

摘要
