Primary care teams across the globe were among many unsung heroes during the early years of the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite immense challenges, primary care clinicians and practices everywhere iteratively innovated in the face of significant resource constraints and in rapidly evolving policy, public health, educational, and clinical environments to be on the frontlines caring for patients, families, and communities. We focus on examples from the United States (US), but we believe this book still offers valuable insights for a much broader, international audience. This book dives deep into the experiences of primary care teams, educators, researchers, learners, and patients to examine the heroics of primary care during the pandemic, from accelerating new ways of delivering care (e.g., telehealth) to discovering and treating novel clinical diagnoses (e.g., Long COVID) while continuing the day-to-day work of delivering primary care and partnering with communities to improve population health.

摘要
