EmoteGPU: Generative AI for Emotional Expression and Self-Management in Young Adults
摘要
Emotion expression and self-regulation are critical to young people’s mental health. However, existing digital interventions often lack personalization, immersion, and diversity in feedback. To address these shortcomings, this study proposes a multimodal emotion expression system integrating gesture interaction, image generation, and semantic feedback. The system uses Leap Motion for natural emotion input, employs ComfyUI and generative AI to create personalized virtual emotional characters, and provides immersive, gamified emotional feedback through emotion labels and 3D animations. We conducted a user study with 64 university students aged 18–25, evaluating the system using the PANAS scale and semi-structured interviews. The results demonstrated a strong interactive experience and emotion regulation potential, indicating that the system can enhance emotion expression and users’ willingness for cognitive emotion regulation. This work offers a new paradigm for AI-augmented affective human-computer interaction and expands its application potential in the domain of youth psychological support.
