The advent of automated and autonomous vehicle (AV) technology heralds a transformative shift in transportation, with profound implications for sustainability and urban mobility. This paper examines the transference of private sector innovations to public sector applications to foster sustainable AV business models around the world. Through collaboration with 30 experts, entrepreneurial business models were developed, tested and refined using a criteria matrix—centering around two clustered service concepts. Through rounds of feedback, dominant themes emerged. The findings underscore the potential for autonomous vehicles to enhance urban mobility, reduce emissions, and improve operational efficiencies, but areas where private and business innovation can provide innovative entrepreneurial solutions for public transport that pave the way for more resilient and sustainable transportation systems.

摘要
